Terry Kane, BPHE, BSC(Physical Therapist)

A graduate of the University of Toronto with degrees in Physical Therapy and Physical and Health Education, Terry Kane has been a registered and licensed physical therapist with the College of Physical Therapists of Alberta since 1985.

During his career Terry has worked with over 500 Olympic and Professional athletes around the world –  held titles as Head Physical Therapist with the Canadian Olympic Hockey Team and Calgary Flames as well as worked with some of the most respected sports medicine physicians and Orthopaedic surgeons in Canada.

In addition to his clinical work,  Terry has served as an Injury Analysis Consultant to the NHL as well as lectured on injury rehabilitation and exercise to surgeons, physicians, physical therapists and personal trainers at some of the leading health and fitness conferences in the world including the American College of Sports Medicine, the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine and the Asian Academy of Sports and Fitness Professionals.

Terry is also a frequent lecturer on Physical Therapy with the University of Calgary Department of Continuing Medical Education and contributing developer of the MainPro-C Course “Chronic Pain Management for Family Physicians” offered by the University of Calgary Department of Continuing Medical Education.

Beyond clinical work, Terry also owns and operates the world’s largest online database of orthopaedic rehabilitation protocols at www.orthopaedicprotocols.com  visited  by surgeons and physical therapists in over 100 countries in the world.as well as serves as Advisory Board Member of CanFitPro and a editorial peer reviewer for the Physician and Sports Medicine and Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine.

Terry is married to former World Champion Synchronized Swimmer, Helen Vanderburg and has two daughters Kiah and Sage.

Terry is a member of the Hockey Canada Alumni Association, Calgary Flames Alumni Association, University of Toronto Varsity Blues Alumni, Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Society Alumni (PHATS) as well as active in the community as a volunteer with Canadian Heart and Stroke Fund, Canadian Diabetes Society, Earl Grey Elementary School,  Parkhill Community Association amongst other organizations.
